is the musical umbrella where singer/songwriter Johnny Genre shelters while performing to the crowds. Former lead vocalist with 70s Prank Rockers, The Lesser Known Tunisians {q.v}, who forged a path of parody through the Glam Rock/Punk/New Wave era; Mr E has continued to create musical milestones through the years. Today he is still entertaining audiences with his uniquely original style: Quirky Songs with Curious Lyrics and Catchy Tunes. A self-styled soul survivor of the Seventies, he describes his sound as a Blues tinged Jazzy Cocktail, with a solid gold Rock & Soul pedigree, and Psychedelic flights of fancy.
Jackie Juno, Grand Bard of Exeter puts it succinctly, "Unbelieveable".
During a career that's lasted over forty years Johnny Genre has always been at the forefront of what is new and 'happening'. This website is devoted to his solo efforts under the Colourful Genre banner. More of his illustrious episodes can discovered by following the links to his former band (as mentioned above), or through the Eliot John website. There you will find all the other ventures he has been involved in as an Actor, Aesthete, Athlete and nearly everything else from A-Z. Details of all the other bands he has belonged to are also to be found there.
